Eric Goris with good newsBesides the most prominent drop out Pia Sundstedt, there were several amateurs who had to strike their colours due to injury on the four stages of the Trans Germany. One of them was Eric Goris who went down badly at the Wertacher Hörnle on day three and had to be transported by helicopter to a hospital nearby. But just like the Finnish Craft-Rocky-Mountain racer there is also an all-clear signal from the Unfallkrankenhaus Murnau. „The two broken vertebrae cervicales are stable, so Eric doesn’t have to undergo surgery,“ said head of rescue team Andreas Hamel, who visited Goris. Get well soon!

Juni 2010 Christoph Sauser claims second stage winSöllner’s win on ladies’ side overshadowed by injury and end of race for Sundstedt The overall leading racer of the 2010 CRAFT BIKE TRANS GERMANY powered by NISSAN, Christoph Sauser (SUI) from Specialized Factory Racing has claimed his second stage win on day three of the mountain bike stage race after having triumphed on the opening stage before. The former World Champion underlined his leading position in the battle for the Trans Germany crown on the 55.49 kilometres and 1,830 metres in altitude of the sprint leg from Pfronten to Sonthofen in 2:05:26.8 hours. more »

Juni 2010 Christoph Sauser victorious on opening stageClimb to Tuftlalm brings decision / Elisabeth Brandau fastest woman Christoph Sauser has claimed victory on the first stage of the 2010 CRAFT BIKE TRANS GERMANY powered by NISSAN. The former World Champion from Switzerland secured his triumph on the 81.44 kilometres long opening stage from Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) to Lermoos (AUT), which was peppered with 2,154 metres in altitude, due to an outstanding acceleration in the last climb to the Tuftlalm which also counted for the best climber classification. more »

Mai 2010 Political mountain bikers to accompany the final leg of the Trans GermanySonthofen and the Allgau region are planning a nice project in order to prove that the CRAFT BIKE TRANS GERMANY is still „welcome“ in the area after the organisers had to face some oppositions from various owners and other lobby groups in the route design and licensing process. As part of the fringe events of the last stage to Bregenz, several majors of the region as well as other politicians and public persons will ride a part of the leg together with the 1,200 mountain bikers on June 5th – start at 10 AM.
Team Schoeneck – a mix of old stagers and greenhornsAlthough the Trans Germany won‘ t lead through Schoeneck this year, it doesn’t mean that the „balcony of the Erz Mountains“ isn’t part of this mountain bike stage race’s fourth edition. Unfortunately, this year’s licensing process with the authorities and land owners of the stages from Garmisch-Partenkirchen via Lermoos, Pfronten, and Sonthofen to Bregenz was very protracted. Due to this, we had no other option but to make numerous (asphaltic) compromises – especially in the Allgau. more »

Besides a huge catering plus a children’s program on the arrival day of the third stage (June 4th), the Allgaeu organisers have also something in mind for June 5th. After the more than 1,000 bikers have left in order to master the final leg to Bregenz, the SC Sonthofen will organise a skill course at 10:20 AM. Donnerstag, 17. Dezember 2009 The Trans Germany Camp is sold out!The interest for the Trans Germany which takes place from June 2nd to 5th, 2010, is amazing. Almost all starting places are sold out. But that’s not all: the camp which was planned to accommodate 200 persons each night is completely sold out! From now on, every new participant will be placed on a waiting list and only has the chance to get a place in the camp if there are any cancellations or reservation changes.

Dezember 2009 Starter field enlarged to 1,200 participants!A high interest in the new CRAFT BIKE TRANS GERMANY powered by NISSAN was to expect but the run on the entry spots organisers witnessed over the last 2.5 weeks was just incredible and surprising. All 800 entries were allocated. Due to this one thing is obvious months before the starting signal: the Trans Germany will be as big as never before! But there is also good news for those who haven’t secured their start spot yet. Due to the sustaining interest in the four days lasting stage race the organisers decided to give another 400 mountain bikers the chance to also experience the new routing next June. This means a maximum of 1,200 mountain bikers will start next year; so, don’t lose any time and secure one of the last spots online now.
