Dienstag, 1. Juni 2010 Preview Stage 1Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Lermoos Although the first 85 kilometres from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Lermoos are not what you would call the most technical demanding ones you have ever seen. ![]() But due to the fact that they are peppered with 2,154 metres in altitude, they are predestinated to separate the wheat from the chaff right away. If you are not in the top-10 on the first stage, you won’t get many chances thereafter to gain back your chance to win the race. Downhill aces with advantages? Right after the start, the routing leads the participants on a steep climb to Partnachalm, from there on via Gut Elmau and the Ferchensee into the Leutasch. Then, the bikers pedal through the Gaistal to the Ehrwalder Alm. After a steep downhill section to the Lermooser Moos it’s time for some hard work – the tough climb up to Tuftlalm. Thereafter, downhill experts might have an advantage in the battle for the victory as from Lähn and further on Obergarten on the way leads downwards. |
