Home field advantage for Biketeam Sonthofen

This goal of combining real sport with the fun for it gets obvious by taking a deeper look on the rider compilation. The Biketeam, which also took some training sessions in a local fitness centre, consists of a rooster which mainly came together in order to enjoy several trips in their home area.

In addition, marathons and mountain sprints were also scheduled on a regular basis. In general, the Sonthofen bikers are united by the fun of mountain biking and the spirit of mastering the challenge of a mountain bike stage race together.

Young and old, the perfect mix

On their mission, the team will pedal in two categories. Arne Berger (39 years old), Klaus Häger (37) and Alexander Briest (36) will start in the men’s classification. They will be accompanied by the team’s nestling, 20-years-old Christian Baldauf, who joined the crew after Sepp Happach had to cancel the race due to injury.

The second half of the team will give everything they have in the classifier for the oldest participants with a minimum age of 50 years. Reini Kotz (50), Franz Neuhauser (50), Helmut Maier (54), Willy Burger (57) and Heinz Gadizik (58) will compete with several other senior master mountain bikers.
