Land in sight! The final destination Bregenz – an island for mountain bikers

That Bregenz is predestined for being the town which hosts the finish of a mountain bike stage race can be proven easily by focusing on the geographical position. Being located in the so-called 4-country corner, right at the Eastern riverside of Lake Constance, Vorarlberg's provincial capital Bregenz combines all that what makes a mountain bikers heart leap for joy.

With glittering waters on the one hand and the 1,000 metres high local mountain “Pfaender” on the other hand, Bregenz’ charm is unique and offers great outdoor sports facilities everywhere.

Bregenz is “freedom on two wheels”

For those who think that the biking pleasure is limited by water have to be disabused. Ferries, lifts and trains are not only made to conquer obstacles they also open the door to new biking paradises.

In Bregenz’ backyards you will find the full range of biking tours – challenging off-road tours as well as flat asphalt routes for racers or chilling family trips.

Breath taking but also breathtaking – the tough tour across the “Pfaender” and “Hirschberg”

After starting your 40 km long trip in Bregenz which is also peppered with 1,200 metres in altitude you will head straight up the Pfaender before climbing the Hirschberg which offers an amazing view on the numerous peaks of the Bregenzerwald.

After a downhill to Sulzberg you will reach the former line of the historical “Waelderbaehnle” which travels all along the Bregenzerache to Kennelbach. It’s a must have rode for all bike freaks before you close the circle in Bregenz again.

Complete package makes Bregenz so popular

As Bregenz is also willing to offer mountain bikers even more of those attractive routes the persons in charge beaver away feverishly on extending the current route network.

The touristic offer of the 2010 Trans Germany finish town is rounded out by a top gastronomy, high class lodging including specialised bike hotels as well as bike rentals and bike guides.

Rhythm ‘n’ Blues – Finisher follow footsteps of Louis Armstrong and Fats Domino

After four days of hard work, the participants of the CRAFT BIKE TRANS GERMANY powered by NISSAN will move their hips. The traditional “New Orleans Festival” is in full swing when the athletes are entering their final destination.

From June 3rd to 6th, Bregenz’ roads will turn into “Little Bourbon Street”; national and international musicians will fire up the tired athletes.
